 Adverb definition and examples:

A word that is used to clarify the verb is called an adverb. Another Adverb definition, an Adverb is a word that increases or adds the meaning of the verb is known as an adverb.


Adverb Examples:
He runs fast.
According to the adverb definition, the above adverb example clarifies the verb. In this sentence, the word "fast" is used to clarify the verb "runs".
He eats quickly.
According to the adverb definition, in this sentence, the word "quickly" is used to clarify the verb "eats".

There are 7 types of adverb:

1. Adverb of Manner:

Adverb of Manner is the first type in types of adverb.  Adverb of manner are mostly end with "ly" for example, quickly, honestly, etc are adverb of manner because these words show "manner". 

Adverb of manner examples:

Quickly, honestly, carefully, slowly, etc are adverbs of manner. Adverb of manner shows the manner. He performs his duty honestly, in this sentence "honestly" shows manner and it is an adverb of manner.

2. Adverb of place:

Adverb of place is the second type in types of adverb. Adverb of place is the word that is used to show that Where did this work takes place. 

Adverb of place examples:

Anywhere, around, near, down, etc are adverb of place examples.

3. Adverb of time:

Adverb of time is the third type in types of adverb. Adverb of time are the words that are used to show that when did this work happen. 

Adverb of time examples:

Always, yesterday, ago, soon, later, then, now etc are adverb of time examples.

4. Adverb of number:

Adverb of number is the fourth type in types of adverb. Adverb of number are the words that are used to show that how many times this work has been done or taken.

Adverb of number examples:

Often, always, again, twice, once etc are adverb of number examples.

5. Adverb of degree:

Adverb of degree is the fifth type in types of adverb. Adverb of degree are the words that are used to show that how much or how many times this work done.

Nearly, a little, fully, much, very etc are adverb of degree examples.

6. Adverb of probability:

Adverb of probability is the sixth type in types of adverb. Adverb of probability are the words that are used to show that how much confident we are in something.

suddenly is the adverb of probability examples.

7. Adverb of interrogative:

Adverb of an interrogative is the seventh type in types of adverb. Adverb of interrogative are the words that are used in asking questions.

which, where, why, when, who, etc are adverb of interrogative examples.

Types of adverbs are always used in sentences. There are different types of adverb. Every types of adverb are used for different sentences. For example, He eats slowly. In this adverb example "slowly" is the adverb of manner. Another Adverb example: There is nothing around me. In this example "around" is the adverb of place. So, different types of adverb are used for different purposes.
