The computer produces answers at an extremely amazing speed. The computer is used for various purposes. It can use for learning purposes, computation, contact, etc.

Characteristics of Computer:

 

1. Speed:

Working on computer is extremely speedy. Billions of calculations are executed within seconds via computer. Computer speed is calculated in MegaHertz and Giga Hertz. The computer workings are quicker than human beings. The computer does a batch of computations in a second and humans complete any computation over one minute.

2. Reliability:

The computer is an extremely reliable instrument. Reliability means we can utilize Computer a lot of times and its components such as (Mouse, Keyboard, LCD, etc) are hardly ever broken or fail.

For Example:

The mouse is not often broken or fails. LCD is not often broken or fails. 

3. Accuracy:

The computer is an extremely correct device. It executes billions of computations lacking some error. Computation can be incorrect only when data given to the computer is not accurate.

For Example:

Assume we desire to get average marks of complete students in class. A mistake is possible when it is performed by a human being. There is no possibility of error if this work is performed by a computer.

4. Storage:

Computer stores huge amounts of data in storage devices. Computer stores a big quantity of data for later use. We can use data at any time. Computer storage is growing speedily.

5. Flexibility:

The computer is an extremely flexible machine. The computer is used in every field of life for instance banks, offices, hospitals, at home, etc.

6. Constancy:

Constancy means attentiveness. The computer does not lose attention due to a weighty job. It does not weary or sleepy due to a bunch of jobs.

7. Communication:

All computers these days can converse with other computers. We can attach two or more computers by a communication gadget such as a modem. The linked computers are called networks.

Components of Computer:

Special parts of a computer system are as follows:

Input Devices

        The data entering or given to the computer by using components of computer is called input. There are many components of computer that are used to enter data into computers and these components of computer are called input devices. Mainly used input devices are keyboard, mouse, microphone, scanner, digital camera as well as PC camera.

Output Devices

     The data converted into useful information is called output. The components of computer used to show information to the consumer are called output devices. Mainly normally used output devices are Monitor, Printer, and speaker.

System Unit

A box that contains different electronic components of computer that are used to process data is called a system unit. Every computer system must contain a system unit. 

The computer cannot work without a system unit. In components of computer system unit is most important components of the computer. 

What is Computer?

The system unit is the main or important component of the computer system. All components like (RAM, Processor, etc) in the system unit are attached to the motherboard. The motherboard is also identified as a system board or mainboard. The System board is the contact medium for the whole computer system.

Storage Devices

Physical parts of the computer that are used to store data for later use are called storage devices. It is called nonvolatile for the reason that its files and other data stay protected or safe when the computer is turned off.
